Victory at Home

Hi, I’m Victoria.

I’m a follower of Jesus, wife, mother, homeschooler, and lifelong student of what makes families flourish.

I wasn’t raised in a Christian home and wasn’t a believer when I met my husband, Michael, in 2007. God used him to introduce me to the gospel, and that changed the entire course of my life.

Together, we’ve raised six children through a wide variety of seasons and circumstances. I’m both a stepmom and a biological mom, and our family has experienced nearly every educational path available. We’ve used public school, private school, homeschooling, and hybrid programs. Some of our children attended school through graduation, some moved from school to homeschool, one tried homeschooling and returned to school, and our two youngest have never attended school at all.

All this has taught me something important:

That belief is one of the reasons I started Victory at Home.

Since 2021, I’ve served first as vice president and then as president of Nassau County Home Educators, a local homeschool support group serving roughly 200 families. I’ve also led children’s ministry programs and served on the leadership committee of our homeschool co-op.

Through those roles—and simply through years of doing life with other families—I’ve had many conversations with parents and spouses who felt overwhelmed, discouraged, or convinced they were failing because they couldn’t live up to someone else’s expectations. Sometimes it was a homeschool mom who believed she wasn’t doing enough. Sometimes it was a parent struggling to reach a child. Sometimes it was a wife trying to strengthen her marriage.

Again and again, I found myself sharing the same message:

It’s okay to do what works for your individual family and your individual children.

Everything I write is shaped by a handful of convictions:

The Bible is true.

God is good.

Family is at the heart of God’s design for passing faith, wisdom, and responsibility from one generation to the next.

Parents are responsible for intentionally choosing what influences their children.

Children—and parents—are made in the image of God.

Truth and grace are both necessary.

Relationships matter more than rules.

And in God’s hands, with our agreement and surrender, mistakes, failures, and difficult seasons can become the tools He uses to reveal what He always intended us to be.

Victory at Home exists to encourage and equip families who want to build excellent, Jesus-honoring homes on that foundation.

You’ll find articles and resources here about faith, parenting, homeschooling, homemaking, marriage, and family life. Some are practical. Some are deeply personal. Some may challenge you. My hope is that all of them point you toward Jesus and help your family flourish in His loving hands.

If you’re looking for a perfect family, you won’t find one here.

But if you’re looking for biblical encouragement, practical wisdom, and someone who genuinely wants to see your family flourish, you’re in the right place.
